The Kept Woman is a quick and easy read about a divorcee who's trying to keep her head above water. Her husband left while she was pregnant with their third child. He's behind on child support payments and is nowhere to be found. One night while hanging with her gal pals at a bar, Sam drunkenly makes the comment that she wouldn't mind being a kept woman. From that innocent comment, her life is changed forever. I enjoyed this book even though I had a problem with the name of Sam's best friend - Monte. Can you guess what her race is? Can you be more stereotypical? I mean really. Every single time I read the name, I would grit my teeth. For some reason it bugged me. The book was fast paced, the sex was hot and the ending was typical of a romance novel happy ending. What more can you ask for?
