Darkness Everlasting is the 3rd book in the Guardians of Eternity series. This is the first book that I've read of the series. I have no idea why I downloaded it but it had been sitting on my Kindle for a while. During one of my reading slumps (I kept starting and stopping several books and was getting frustrated), I decided to peruse my Kindle to find something that will catch my eye. I noticed that Darkness Everlasting was on my last Kindle "page". Since it was pretty old, I figured I'd go ahead and read it. I went into it not knowing anything about the book or the series. I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed this book. I loved Darcy's character. She was spunky, tough and straight forward. She wasn't your typical damsel in distress and I loved that! If you've read any of my reviews, you will notice that I hate whiny women. It is a huge pet peeve. In my opinion, a little whine goes a long way. In the beginning, you don't know if Styx the vampire is the good guy or the bad guy. His only interest in Darcy is to use her as a bargaining tool with the werewolves. As he spends more time with her and their relationship progresses, he comes to realize, in true hero fashion, that she is more than that. Darkness Everlasting has great characters and plot and lots of sex and violence! And in between all of that there's a funny 3ft tall gargoyle named Levet to add some humor which makes it an all around good read.
