Love To Read For Fun

Finding romance, one book at a time.

Passion

Passion - Lisa Valdez Where do I start? When the book started with Passion and Mark having anonymous sex behind a screen, my first thought was,"how is this going to be a love story?" By page 12, Mark is asking Passion if her "cunt is weeping for his cock." Again, this is supposed to be a great love story? But the story of Passion and Mark is more than about sex. It is the love story of all love stories. It is about finding true love when you least expect it and fighting for that love in the face of blackmail and sacrifice. And I loved it!I could not put the book down. For me, that hasn't happened in a while. I was so afraid that I'd lost my reading mojo but with Passion, I got it back. From the first page I was engrossed in the characters and their romance. It didn't hurt that the main characters were instantly attracted to each other and had hot, monkey sex in a very public place on several occasions. I read Passion at every opportunity. Even if it was for 5 minutes before getting in the car, I'd inhale as much as I could. I couldn't get enough of Mark and Passion's romance and I dreaded the moment when I would get to the end of the book.Mark and Passion first come to together to fill a physical need but you soon see that they fulfill an emotional need as well. As you're reading, you see the emotional connection between Mark and Passion grow. The physical attraction is a given and the sex scenes between them are scorching hot! But the love that develops between them is what makes this book so great. With sacrifice and family working against them, I was rooting for Mark and Passion to get their HEA that they truly deserved. Flutter factor: Passion is definitely a historical as well as erotic romance. The sex scenes are plentiful and hot. At one point the descriptive sex was a little bit too much. Apparently Mark has a penis the size of a baby's arm and hasn't been able to fully "please" the women he's been with. The author goes into great detail describing how Passion was able to "accept" Mark's large appendage. This description I could have done without but it didn't take away from the book. For me Passion was all about the romance. Can I say again how I absolutely LOVED this book! I haven't read a great romance in a long time and Passion definitely delivers.
