In this latest installment of the IAD series, the Valkyrie managed not to annoy the hell out of me. I've mentioned in my reviews of the other two books in the series that it's been tough for me to warm up to the Valkyrie in this series. Since they are pretty much prominent (so far) in each book, I decided to get over it and just go with it.I actually liked Kaderin's character but didn't like Sebastian. How is that for a twist? I thought Sebastian was such a pansy throughout most of the book. The times he tried to be a bad-ass he got scared and went back to being a pansy again. Physically, he is a strong and imposing man (vampire) but I felt that Kaderin had more balls than Sebastian.I enjoyed the book although the Hie (The Amazing Race for the preternatural) aspect of the plot lasted too long in my opinion. As the contest progressed, I became less interested. I loved that the characters that were introduced in the previous books were an integral part of the plot in this one.All in all, an enjoyable read but not my favorite of the series so far. As usual, Cole did not disappoint with the smexing. I know I have a ways to go in this series. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
