This book is a DNF for me. I'm not familiar with the series but it can be read as a standalone. I wasn't lost and the author did provide enough background information that allowed me to follow the overall plot. I am DNFing this book because I just find the book ridiculous. I don't know if I should take it seriously or not. There are two stories featuring the brothers Sevin and Luc. I managed to read half of Sevin's story and then I started skimming. Once I started skimming, I eventually put the book down and I have zero desire to pick it back up.I couldn't connect with the characters or plot. I was not interested and it didn't hold my attention. I like the cover though. That's what grabbed my attention. Sometimes reading a book because the cover is hot is not a good idea.
