Lukas Blacque is a closeted wolf who is also son of the Alpha. Being the son of the Alpha means that Lukas can never come out to his father or his pack. Lukas has been secretly lusting after his vampire neighbor, Oliver Bleu. Being a vampire, Oliver is bound by society's rules on sexuality. He's attracted to the wolf but doesn't think that Lukas will reciprocate. But hooking up with the sexy wolf is the least of Oliver's concerns. He's slowly dying because he's unable to sleep. And due to the lack of energy, he's not feeding as frequently as he needs to.Lukas is totally inexperienced, sexually, despite the fact that he has piercings and tattoos. You'd think a perceived bad boy would have a bedpost full of notches but not so. Lukas is a loner and shy. I liked how patient Oliver was with him and understanding. Oliver is familiar with how packs run and knew that he wouldn't be able to be with Lukas in a committed relationship. I felt bad for Oliver and everything he was going through.I enjoyed Blacque/Bleu for the most part. I liked the idea of a m/m story where a vamp and wolf get together. I did have a problem with Lukas and Oliver be referred to by their last name throughout the book. At times I got confused as to who was Blacque and who was Bleu. I felt that the world building was lacking and at the beginning of the book, I was confused. I didn't understand the issues going on with Oliver and why he was suffering from insomnia. I'm still not 100% sure. Is the insomnia the result of the nightmares or the result of him not feeding? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? There are plenty of sex scenes in Blacque/Bleu. There's plenty of pack politics that we learn about. Arcada is a town where a lot of mystical creatures live. I found it odd that Lukas wasn't aware of any of it. I'd like to have known more about Arcada and what was it about this town that drew the preternatural.Blacque/Bleu was a good read but it didn't wow me. I had so many questions once I finished that I felt weren't answered. I'm assuming more information is revealed in the next book in the series but I'm not sure if I will be picking that book up.
