I tried. I tried. I tried. I am not a Kristen Ashley fan. After reading a couple of her self-published books and not enjoying them, I was hoping her first professionally published work would finally make me a fan. Wrong. I was hoping that I would like Own the Wind. I read Motorcycle Man and it was one of the Ashley books that I could finish and somewhat enjoyed. I was excited to read book 1 of the spin-off series and had such high hopes for it.I struggled to the 15% mark and haven't picked it back up in a weeks. The prologue was entirely too long and I would have preferred if it was written as chapters in the book. But that probably would have made the book 600 pages. I'm not a fan of reading about characters that are in their early 20s which is the age of Tabby and that bothered me. I have no problems with the motorcycle club setting or how the women are treated. I'm a fan of Sons of Anarchy so I wasn't shocked at the treatment.I could not get into the overall story or characters. I'm not a fan of Ashley's writing style at all. I've tried and I'm done trying. I surrender! I'm one of the few who is not a KA fan. I don't get it and I guess I never will.
