Virgin is book #9 of the Cat Star Chronicles series. This is my first time reading a book from this series. Even without prior knowledge of the previous 8 books, Virgin was easy to follow.Dax is The 30-year old virgin. He has yet to meet a woman who has made him purr...until Ava. Ava wants to go back to her home planet and reunite with her old boyfriend. After dumping her loser boyfriend, Lars, Ava is relieved when Dax offers her a ride on his starship. Ava is attracted to Dax but she's doubtful of the attraction. She's heard rumors about Zetithians, about how sex with them is addictive. She doesn't want to fall into that trap.Virgin was a pleasant surprised. I was shocked at how steamy and sexy the story was. Dax is uncomfortable around women and is not skillful at seduction. His attempts at wooing Ava and failing at it, created many awkward and endearing moments. Dax and Ava's relationship progressed naturally and I am happy that it wasn't rushed. Once they finally gave into their attraction and passion, it was explosive.I also enjoyed the side characters, especially Waroun. He was hilarious and I loved the nicknames he had for Dax; The Great Virgin and Super Kitten.Virgin was an enjoyable read. The plot and the characters were entertaining even though trying to pronounce some of the names was giving me a headache. I eventually gave up and just started making up my own names for the characters. Virgin definitely reads as a stand alone. If you're looking for a steamy fantasy romance, Virgin definitely fits the bill.
