Love To Read For Fun

Finding romance, one book at a time.

Forged in Fire (Red-Hot SEALs, #1)

Forged in Fire - Trish McCallan Beth shows at Sea-Tac airport after having a nightmare of a flight being hijacked and passengers being killed. One passenger in particular that she remembers from her dream is Zane Winters. Zane and his buddies are on their way to Hawaii to attend a friend's wedding. While waiting for their flight, Zane has a vision of his friend, Cosky, bloodied and dead. Zane is in a race against time to put the bits of pieces he has from his vision to stop whatever is going to happen from happening. When Beth lay eyes on Zane, she immediately recognizes him as the man from her dreams. And when Zane first sees Beth, he recognizes her as his soul mate. The two must work together to prevent the hijacking and to catch the men behind it. In the meanwhile, Zane must curb his attraction to Beth without scaring her off. He has been waiting 10 years for her and he is not going to let her go.Forged in Fire is a non-stop action packed read. Even though Zane has found his soul mate in Beth, there is very little romance in this story. The majority of the plot is centered around stopping a terrorist plot and rescuing hostages. There's violence, lot of it. There is a long rescue mission that is described in detail. There's also a rape scene but not gratuitous but can be disturbing if you don't look for that in your reads.I enjoyed reading Forged in Fire. Even though the romance between Zane and Beth was not the focus, I thought the overall plot was good. It kept me engaged and had a lot of action so the pacing did not lag. Beth had her moments where she irked me a little but luckily she came to her senses quickly. I wish there was more info provided about Zane's gift. We are told that him and his 4 brothers are all psychic and have soul mates. I would have liked to learn more about how they came into this gift, is it something that they have from birth or once they reach maturity, etc. Maybe we'll find out more in future books.I recommend Forged in Fire if you're a fan of military stories with a touch of paranormal thrown into the mix.C
