Lucinda Davenport is a woman who goes after what she wants; and what she wants is Lucien Brandford. I loved Lucinda's spunk and attitude. She is no damsel in distress. She is a woman with a mission and plans on seeing it through. The cast of characters that assist Lucinda in the kidnapping of the Duke added hilarity to the story. Maddy is particularly funny with her sharp wit and tongue and her tendency to slap first, ask questions later.I loved the interaction and budding relationship between Lucinda and Lucien. Even though Lucinda is the mastermind behind his kidnapping, Lucien can not help but be intrigued by Lucinda's brazen and bold behavior. Lucien soon realizes that Lucinda is hard to resist.I thoroughly enjoyed Desperate Desires. Lucien and Lucinda become lovers under less than normal circumstances but you can't help but hope that once the blinders are off, they both realize that they are made for each other. Lucien is sexy and irresistible. He eventually turns the tables on Lucinda and shows her that sex is more than just a physical act. He teaches her the art of seduction. Lucinda is a quick and avid learner.The only problem I had with Desperate Desires is that I didn't want it to end. We are given a quick peek at Lucien and Lucinda's HEA but I wanted more. Yes, I'm greedy like that. All in all, Desperate Desires is a great read. I highly recommend it to fans of historical and erotic romance.
