I thought this novella would be more erotic since the hero is part owner of a BDSM club. I felt that the two sex scenes were very vanilla. Since Christian/Kris is a Dom, he wasn't very Dom with Eve besides telling her what to do. That aspect was a little disappointing. With the novella being under 50 pages, I felt that too much was spent on the food aspect and less on the relationship between Christian and Eve. The desserts were described in glowing detail whereas the sex scenes were kind of skipped over. And if I'm reading a novella about a BDSM owner and his caterer, I expect a smoking hot sex scene. Supposedly the attraction has been building up between the two for 6 months so we kind of jump into that aspect already being established. The ending of the novella felt abrupt and not satisfying and it was kinda odd. Nothing, in my opinion, was settled. I guess we are to assume that Christian and Eve have their HEA.It was an ok read for me. I wish there was more emphasis on the relationship, romance and not on the desserts. By the end, I was left wanting more, not completely satisfied.
