Samson’s Lovely Mortal is an ebook that I purchased on a whim. I read the plot summary and debated back and forth whether or not to buy this book. I am so glad that my book addiction won out because this book was a pleasant surprise. The premise of this book is different and fresh - a vampire who's suffering from erectile dysfunction. Samson hasn't been able to get it up since he dumped his conniving bitch of a fiancée 9 months ago. His friends have been trying to help him get his mojo back but nothing has been working. Samson decides to see a shrink to help him with his issues. Yep, there's a vampire shrink and his name is Dr. Drake. Delilah Sheridan is an auditor. She's in town working on a case. One night when she's out getting food, she's attacked. Delilah runs to the nearest home, seeking help. Samson opens the door to a woman soaking wet asking for help. Hence starts the case of mistaken identity. Samson's friends got him a stripper for his birthday thinking it'll be a nice birthday present and a way to help him with his "problem". So when Samson opens his front door and sees Delilah on his doorstep, he mistakes her for the stripper and thinks her damsel in distress is part of her act. He decides to play along. He kisses Delilah thinking that nothing's going to happen downstairs. Wrong. For 9 months, Samson has felt no sexual attraction to any woman he has encountered until Delilah shows up on his doorstep. Samson will definitely be thanking his friends for this lovely gift. Samson is a sexy vampire who wants to settle down. Delilah is a woman who's social life is non-existent. Her life is consumed with work. She decides to let loose and have some fun with sexy Samson. She's only in town for a little while so why not give in to the red-hot attraction that she has with Samson. The romance between Samson and Delilah develops quite quickly. Even though Samson's intent is to use Delilah for sex only, his interest in her takes a turn to something more romantic. Samson feels a connection to Delilah that he's never felt with anyone. When I started reading Samson's Lovely Mortal, I could not put it down. The plot moves at a steady pace thanks to Samson and Delilah's smoking hot chemistry and the mystery surrounding the defrauding of Scanguards. This book is sexy and romantic with a little bit of humor. The mystery surrounding Delilah's attack was not that difficult to figure out but it's not the main focus of the book. I love the romance between Samson and Delilah and is the main reason why I loved the book (and of course the smoking hot sex). You have two people who are different (vampire and human) but are alike in so many ways. They each have issues with trust and hurt from their past and use their past hurts to heal each other. We are introduced to Samson's circle of friends in this book. Samson has a tight-knit group of men who work for him but who are also his family. When I finished reading this book, I thought to myself that this would make a great series. After doing a little research, I saw that it is a series! Woo hoo!! Samson's Lovely Mortal is a great read if you're a fan of a sexy alpha vampire who is sensitive and romantic. Yeah he has a little ED problem but it is quickly fixed when he finds the right woman.
