Love To Read For Fun

Finding romance, one book at a time.

Bared to You

Bared to You - Sylvia Day I didn't know what to expect when I started reading Bared To You. I'm a cover whore so the first thing that drew me was the cover. Second thing was that it was written by Sylvia Day. I love her historical romances so was happy at the chance to read a contemporary romance by her.Eva is starting her new life in Manhattan. She has a new job and is sharing an apartment with her BFF, Cary. Then Eva meets billionaire Gideon Cross and her simple, new life in Manhattan is turned upside down. Gideon is handsome, sexy, dynamic and he's also fighting his own demons. His past translates into him being a controlling, sometimes needy, borderline nut sack crazy stalker.Gideon and Eva's relationship is so dysfunctional it's like watching a train wreck. I was totally engrossed in their story and I could not put my Kindle down. With each turn of the page, I was anxious to see where the relationship was headed. I didn't like Gideon at the beginning and by the time I finished Bared to You, I still wasn't sure if I liked him. He is truly fucked up and his issues manifests itself into controlling, stalkerish behavior that at times had me frightened for Eva.While reading Bared To You, I wasn't sure if I wanted Gideon and Eva to have a HEA. They both have so many issues and when they are together, both of their insecurities rise to the surface. Gideon brings out the jealous side of Eva and Eva brings out every bad thing you wouldn't want in a boyfriend in Gideon. But I must say, for all the issues, they are compatible in the bedroom. All that crazy equals some smoking hot sex scenes.Bared To You is an engrossing and sexy read. Again, I could not stop reading. Both the characters are such a hot mess and yet their relationship works, in some crazy, off way. Gideon and Eva's issues were not resolved in Bared To You. Thankfully there's a sequel and I hope that we learn more about Gideon's past. The story is told from Eva's 1st person POV so the information we get about Gideon is through Eva. We know, or can deduce, that he's a victim of abuse but we don't know who abused him. I hope to learn more about Gideon's family and his upbringing cause he had to experience some crazy shit to be such a successful man and be so insecure in his relationship.I highly recommend Bared To You. I've never been so engrossed in such a dysfunctional relationship.
