My favorite dysfunctional couple. Gideon and Eva wore me out but I wouldn't expect anything less. Reflected in You starts off the day after Bared to You ended. Yes, the day after. I started reading Reflected thinking some real time had passed and I was shocked when I realized it was the day after. So you know what that means. No growth in Gideon and Eva's relationship whatsoever in the beginning of the book. I prepared myself for the emotional roller-coaster ride they were about to take me on.When I read Bared To You, I couldn't decide if Gideon and Eva should be together. It seemed like they brought out the worst in each other. After reading Reflected In You, I've come to the conclusion that they deserve each other. They are both crazy and to inflict that on innocent people would be cruel. Let the cray cray stay contained within their relationship. They obviously get off on it. It's the only way they know how to function as a couple. Gideon and Eva don't know how to be any other way.Eva was so jealous and insecure in this book but Gideon wasn't helping the issue with his evasiveness and secrets. There were times where I wanted to throttle both of them. They frustrated the hell out of me, especially Eva. She was whiny, clingy and jealous. I was hoping she would put on her big girl panties and put Gideon in his place. When she did, she would still whimper and whine. You'd think two people going to therapy would better know how to handle their issues, at least a little bit. But no. Things get too intense and instead of talking things out, they have sex. And Gideon tells Eva to trust him and she meekly agrees. It is an endless cycle.I don't know if Gideon and Eva's relationship has made any progress (in a positive way). They are both jealous and clingy and insecure. I think Gideon is slightly more crazy than Eva and we find out more about what happened to him as a child. How someone can go through life keeping that pain inside them without becoming a serial killer is beyond me. I think Gideon's big toe is on that line and Eva barely keeps it in check. Just when I was ready to write Gideon off as a possessive, controlling, untrustworthy son of a bitch he does something that completely changes my opinion of him. They're both cray cray and need extensive therapy but somehow their craziness works for them and entertains the hell out of me.As much as Gideon and Eva drive me crazy and give me heart palpitations, I can't quit them. I need to see where their crazy, dysfunctional relationship is headed. It's a train wreck that I can't look away from.
