Doubtless was a quick and somewhat steamy read. Steve is successful and seems to have it all except a loving relationship. His bestfriend is in love and Steve isf a little jealous because he's no longer the main man in Connor's life. Steve has been with women but he has an attraction to men that he has been hiding. Despite Steve's success, he has a hard time connecting with women so he hires a prostitute - a male prostitute. Steve must come to terms with his sexuality and what he's looking for in life.Doubtless reads like there was one before it featuring Steve's best friend Connor and his boyfriend Wes. Some things were revealed as if we should have known what happened. I didn't quite click with Steve or understand his motives. Edit: I found out that there is a previous book, Priceless, featuring Connor and Wes. I read it last night and still couldn't connect with the characters or their romance. Connor and Wes do go through some tough times but since it's a novella, I don't think their romance was fully fleshed out. The thing that Wes and Steve did that was discuessed in Doubtless happened in Priceless but we were only told about it, not shown. And it was kind of brushed over even though in Doubtless, it was a big deal for Steve and a potential cause for conflict.
